An estimated 31,000 people entered Albanian from the Morina crossing point at the border between Kosovo and Albania this weekend.
In some 11,000 vehicles, according to data this weekend was the busiest in terms of visitors entering the country. Most are Kosovo Albanians who spend their weekends in Albanian coastal towns and cities. The data was made public by the Prefect of Kukes, Zenel Kucana.
There are zero requirements in place for people wishing to enter Albania and not even a negative COVID-19 test is required.
There are currently 3,476 known active cases of COVID-19 in Kosovo with 111 new cases reported yesterday. 467 people have died out of 12,448 total confirmed cases since the pandemic began.
