The Special Prosecution against Corruption and Organized Crime (SPAK) has arrested 9 people in Durres on charges of rigging a municipality tender worth €57,000.
On Friday, SPAK announced police arrested six Durres municipality employees on charges of abuse of power, and three others from a private company who was awarded the tender in 2020 on charges of forging documents.
Earlier this week, the special prosecution demanded jail sentences for three members of the Elbasan public hospital staff for rigging two tenders worth €16,000.
SPAK was established as part of the ongoing justice reform in Albania, with the main purpose of fighting organized crime and corruption among high officials.
