Hong Kong women’s footballer, Wai Yuen-Ting who was a midfielder with record-breaking Albanian team Vllaznia has announced her departure from the club.
The 27-year-old played the position of attacking midfielder and was the first Hong Kong citizen to ever win a European football league title. Vllaznia earned their seventh title after they topped the Albanian league and won a qualifiers spot in the UEFA Champions League.
Unfortunately, Wai said she will return to Hong Kong as she was unable to reach an agreement with the club after her trial started in July. She had previously stated she would wait for the end of the season before negotiating the terms of her contract.
Vllaznia from Shkodra, finished the season with 18 games undefeated and with one draw against Apolonia.
In July, the team won the league for the seventh time in a row, beating Tirana AS 4-1. They scored an impressive total of 170 goals in the season.
