Just like in previous elections, the candidate lists of the PS and PD are again littered with businessmen who use their political position to secure lucrative state contracts.
Based on the results of 2013, we can expect the following businessmen to retake their seat in the ranks of the PS:
- Rakip Suli
- Sadri Abazi
- Fidel Ylli
- Pjerin Ndreu
Seven other businessmen are expected to enter the Parliament for the first time:
- Sadi Vorpsi (Tirana)
- Safet Gjici (Kukës)
- Paulin Luli (Shkodra)
- Ilir Xhakolli (Korça)
- Vullnet Sinaj (Vlora)
- Ilir Ndraxhi (Durrës)
- Tatjana Piro (Fier)
On the candidate lists of the PD there are considerably less businessmen represented, perhaps an indication that the chances of the PD entering the government after the elections are relatively low:
- Astrit Veliaj (Berat)
- Agron Shehaj (Vlora)
- Edmond Isaku (Dibra)
