Three Judges Resign before Undergoing Vetting Process

Three Albanian judges have resigned and will not undergo the vetting process, the High Judicial Council (KLGj) has announced.

The resignations of judges A.L., N.Gj., and P.Dh were approved by the KLGj on January 23.

The KLGj also decided to appoint Judge Daniela Shirka to the Special Anti-Corruption Court. Judge Shirka recently passed the vetting process successfully.

It also decided to open 40 new seats in the School of Magistrates for those who want to become judges or prosecutors, and 25 more for counselors and legal aid officers.

Finally, the KLGj disqualified jurist Kestrin Katro candidacy for the High Court.
