Tirana Deputy Mayor Resigns over Water Price

A day after the Municipal Council took the illegal and invalid decision to increase the water price, in which the Socialist Party was “assisted” by two defectors from the LSI, Deputy Mayor Brunilda Paskali has resigned from her function.

In a public statement, Paskali, who belongs to the LSI, stated that it was a “political decision”:

I am making this public statement to inform you about my resignation from the office of Deputy Mayor of the Municipality of Tirana.

This is a political decision taken after reflecting with responsibility after the most recent developments in the Municipal Council where the institutional collaboration until now in the service of the citizens of Tirana and fulfilling all obligations that the Municipality has toward them, was replaced by the individual partnership with two council members that have acted against the political position of the Socialist Movement of Integration.
