Tour operators in Vlora have asked the government and Prime Minister Edi Rama to create procedures that simplify the process of hiring foreign nationals to meet their staffing needs.
They stated that while the peak part of the tourist season has passed, there is still a need for staff for the rest of the year. Operators claim that there is not enough qualified individuals available through employment offices to meet their demand and requirements.
“Despite the Coronavirus situation, this tourist season showed again issues faced by the tourism sector. Among them is a lack of a qualified labour market. Therefore, we tour operators seek to create suitable conditions for the recruitment of trained and qualified foreign employees.
They claim that if assistance is not provided, they will be unable to raise the service to the required standards.
