The Minister of Tourism, Blendi Klosi stated that despite the situation created by the pandemic, Albania managed to be a tourist destination.
In a meeting with the Tour Operators of Vlora, Klosi said:
“Despite the difficult tourist season, we managed to be an open destination. Charters came with tourists, which was not in any other country in Europe.”
Klosi added that tourism gave “energy to the Albanian economy.”
During 2020, a total of 1,745,169 foreign citizens came to Albania, a decrease on 64.2%inn the same period in 2019.
