The Albanian government has signed an agreement with Turkey for the construction of a new University Hospital Campus in Fier.
The campus, which will host the Faculty of Medicine and Nursing, will be built next to the Regional Memorial Hospital—another project funded by the Turkish government.
The news was announced by the Minister of Education Evis Kushi in a post on social media.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Edi Rama continues his two-day visit to Turkey to follow up on several bilateral projects. Based on Rama’s agenda—that he made public online—healthcare, education, social housing, and tourism will be at the forefront of the discussions.
The Regional Memorial Hospital was completed in three months, a few days before the April 25 elections. Erdoğan assisted to the inauguration through a live connection from Ankara. During the stream, he praised the strengthening of the strategic partnership between the two countries.
