Two brothers, Astrit and Brahim Bilali, 59 and 61, were murdered in a drive-by shooting this morning near their house in Shkodër . Police reported that perpetrators had shot with an automatic gun from inside a car, which was found burning in the same area.
The son of one of the victims was arrested earlier as part of the Bajri criminal group, based in Shkodër. Police suspect today’s crime to be connected to clashes between rival criminal groups.
Mayor Voltana Ademi called on the police to provide order and security in the city.
Minister of Interior Sandër Lleshaj went to Shkodër today to hold a meeting with high police officials.
In the last 9 months there have been 9 murders in Shkodër and 2 persons have been missing.
– On March 29, 2019, Leonard Polia, 35, was shot dead from a motorcycle while driving his car.
– On November 14, 2018, Fatos Ferracaku, 40, was shot with a gun at midday in one of the city markets.
– On September 1, Arjan Ferracaku, 30, was shot dead in the Livadhë area. Ferracaku was in the company of one of today’s victims.
– On August 23, Gëzim Hysaj, 56, and his nephew Agron Mollaj, 47, went missing.
– On August 10, Fatbardh Lici, 53, was shot dead in a café. He was the brother-in-law of Lulzim Kulla, one of the “strongmen” of Shkodër.
– On July 15, former police officer Boran Bërçana, 30, and his girlfriend Silvana Ndoci, 25, were shot dead in their car.
– On June 18, Mehdi Kavaja, 60, was shot dead while working in his auto-repair shop.
None of the perpetrators have been arrested.
