Two women have lost their lives in the last 24 hours in Albania, reportedly at the hands of their husbands.
Yesterday, a woman from Tirana was brutally stabbed to death by her husband. They were in his car at a warehouse in Bubq when he turned on her, stabbing her repeatedly and then trying to kill himself.
The 51-year-old has been arrested and is receiving treatment in hospital.
The couple has two children aged 22 and 17.
Last night in Durres, a 24-year-old woman was thrown from the balcony of the family apartment and died instantly. Her husband has been arrested and is under investigation to ascertain if he threw his wife, or if she committed suicide.
