USAID has donated 3,160 COVID-19 test kits to Albania, bringing the total number of tests donated to 32,160.
The tests were delivered to the Institute of Public Health and Mother Teresa Hospital, USAID announced.
They also donated an automated extractor machine which purifies RNA allowing the staff to handle more tests and more rapidly.
USAID delivered 29,000 test kits last month to Albania, part of the $1.5 billion in assistance aimed at fighting the pandemic worldwide.
Albania has seen an increase in death toll and infections since lockdown measures were lifted in May. It has reported 225 deaths and 7,260 cases since the beginning of the pandemic.
