U.S. Embassies Suspend Visa Services Due to Coronavirus

The U.S. Embassy in Tirana, as well as all U.S. embassies worldwide, has temporarily suspended all visa services due to the coronavirus pandemic. Only humanitarian-based emergency non-immigrant visa appointments will be considered.

The Embassy announced today that they have cancelled all routine visa appointments as of March 20.

“In response to significant worldwide challenges related to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Department of State is temporarily suspending routine visa services at all U.S. Embassies and Consulates. Embassies and consulates have cancelled all routine immigrant and nonimmigrant visa appointments as of March 20, 2020. On Wednesday, President Trump temporarily suspended the approval of immigration green cards for at least two months, to protect American workers’ jobs in an economy hit by the coronavirus.
