Vetting Bans Judge from the Judiciary for 15 Years

The Special Appeal Chamber (KPA) has upheld the lower vetting panel decision to ban Judge Eneida Civici from the justice system for 15 years.

The decision was taken by Albana Shtylla, Sokol Çomo, Ardian Hajdari, Natasha Mulaj and Rezarta Schuetz on Wednesday.

The former judge loses the right to be appointed judge or prosecutor or member of any justice system institution.

Eneida Civici resigned in October 2019, a year after the Independent Qualification Commission (KPK) launched an administrative investigation into her. Her resignation meant that the vetting process for her would stop.

In March 2020, the KPK decided to end her vetting and ban her from the system for 15 years.
