The Independent Qualification Commission has dismissed Tirana Prosecutor Arben Allajbeu.
The decision was taken by Xhensila Pine, Etelda Ciftja, and Pamela Qirko.
They raised suspicions that Allajbeu had transferred ownership of an apartment to his mother in law in an effort to conceal it. This information reached the commission through an anonymous tip. They then ascertained that the parents of the Prosecutor were not financially able to build or own such a property.
Other issues included the terms and payment of a loan for an apartment in Tirana in 2007. They also noted he was financially unable to give a loan of EUR 10,000 to his sister in 2014 and EUR 7000 to his parents in 2017.
Allajbeu started his career as a Judicial Police Officer and was then appointed as a prosecutor in the Berat Prosecution Office in 2014. By November 2016, Allajbeu was transferred to the Tirana Prosecutor’s Office where he held the position of prosecutor until today.
