The Public Commissioner (KP) appealed to the Special Appeals Chamber (KPA) the ruling of the Independent Qualification Commission (KPK) to confirm Prosecutor Arben Dollapaj in his duty.
The KP demanded KPA to have a thorough re-investigation on prosecutor’s wealth given the suspicions that the KPK has not performed a full investigation.
The KP also clarified that it had received two denunciations in August regarding two of prosecutor’s assets – a house in Tirana and another one in Valbona. Prosecutor Dollapaj had stated that the house in Tirana is co-owned by himself and his brother but the KPK has not investigated into his brother’s financial sources.
In their demand for appeal, different from other cases, the KP did not demand Dollapaj’s dismissal but only a re-investigation into his wealth.
Arben Dollapaj, Prosecutor at the Appeals Court in Shkodra, was confirmed in office on August 6, 2018. He is a candidate to the High Prosecutorial Council (KLP).
This latest demand for appeal by the KP brings the total number to 12, or 35% of the total number of rulings made by the KPK.
