Ursula von der Leyen has said that the future of Albania and North Macedonia lies within the EU.
Speaking at the State of the Union 2020, she added that the Western Balkans are a part of Europe and “not a stopover on the Silk Road.” The President of the European Commission said that the region shares the same history and destiny as the rest of Europe.
