Voting process is over in Kosovo’s local elections. About 798 thousand people cast their vote in the Sunday voting, or 42.74 per cent of all the people registered to vote.
1,86 million voters were eligible to vote, but hundred of thousand of them live outside Kosovo.
Three municipalities in the north of Kosovo had the highest turnout—Zveçan with 85.92%, Lepasaviq 74.01% and Zubin Patok 64.66%. Two southern municipalities, Dragash and Prizren, had the lowest turnout, with 34,51% and 35,38% respectively.
Prushtina, the capital and the most populous municipality, had a 44.49% voter turnout.
Ballot counting is expected to start soon, and most of the results are expected around midnight and early hours on Moday.
