Vucic Announces Start of Covid-19 Vaccination for Serbs in Northern Kosovo

President Aleksandar Vucic of Serbia has announced the start of vaccination against Covid-19 for Serbs in Northern Kosovo on Friday, one day after it started in Belgrade.

He told journalists today that the first vaccines were received by the elderly in Leposavic, a Serb-majority town in Kosovo. Vucic said the city of North Mitrovica will also get vaccines from Serbia soon.

Kosovo’s government has not commented on the issue.

Serbia is expecting more doses of the  Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine on January 4th and January 11th, the president announced today.

The Serbian government was the first to get vaccines in the region, thanks to an early signed contract with Pfizer.
