Weekend Wedding Parties Result in Fines for Albanian Restaurant Owners

Albanian police fined a number of businesses over the weekend for failing to observe the normative act relating to COVID-19 measures.

Two restaurants in Tirana were fined after they held wedding ceremonies, therefore violating the rules put in place. The administration of each venue were fined 3 million ALL ( EUR 24,350).

In Berat, another two restaurant owners found themselves slapped with fines for 1 million ALL ( EUR 8,116). Four owners in Fier were also fined for similar breaches.

Also, in Durres, the owner of a restaurant was fined 1 million ALL (8,116) for organising a wedding. 

Police appealed to business owners to respect social distancing and hygiene protocols, to not organise large events such as weddings, and to respect that music should be turned off after 8pm.
