Budget airline Wizzair has announced six new routes from Tirana.
A fourth aircraft will join the Tirana-based fleet and the new routes will include Malmo, Stockholm, Pescara, Genoa, and Roma Ciampino. They will be operational from 28 May 2021.
Wizz opened its Tirana base less than a year ago and assigned three aircraft and 15 routes. Since 2017, WizzAir has carried 650,000 passengers to and from Albania. The new addition means it will offer more than 1.2 million passenger seats for the Tirana network in 2021.
The airline said they hope it will contribute to the Albanian tourism market and create 30 new jobs.
WizzAir will now offer a total of 27 routes to nine countries, directly from Tirana.
