A fire has been raging in the village of Priska, just outside of Tirana on the slopes of Mount Dajti
Some 60 members of the Land Force and the Support Command have joined firefighters in an attempt to extinguish the fire. The fire is spread across several locations but predominantly among bush rather trees. Authorities say there is no risk to property and life at the moment.
Albania has experienced an unusually high number of forest fires this summer, the length and breadth of the country. Thousands of hectares have been destroyed along with olive groves and orchards.
Authorities suspect that most were started deliberately to clear land for development.
