The Prosecution requested arrest of cardiac surgeon Edvin Prifti, adding charge of ‘money laundering’
The Special Anti-Corruption Prosecution (SPAK) suspended the doctor from duty after investigation of corruption.
On Saturday’s session Prosecution has requested a change of measure for doctor Prifti, from suspension to arrest in prison with the accusation of money laundering.
Large cash amounts in euro and Albanian lek were found during the search of the doctor’s apartment and office.
The investigation against the surgeon started after the wiretappings with the court secretary of Kruja, Enkelejda Hoxha, also suspected of corruption.
