The second protest in a week took place outside the Russian embassy in Tirana as hundreds of people gathered to condemn the invasion of Ukraine on Sunday (February 27).
The crowd consisted of both Albanians and foreign citizens who attended to show their solidarity. They held Ukrainian flags and placards insulting Russian President Vladimir Putin and calling for peace.

The first protest was held on Thursday in the same location.
Also on Sunday, Albania joined the European Union in imposing sanctions against Russia. This includes freezing the assets of more than 600 Russian citizens, banning Russian aircrafts from Albanian airspace, and restricting trade in a number of areas.
Albania is also coordinating efforts to send humanitarian aid to Ukraine. The Ukrainian Embassy in Tirana is also collecting donations from Albanian citizens and residents.
