Albania Coronavirus Update, 28 March: 10 Victims, 197 Infected

Albanian authorities have reported 11 more coronavirus cases found in the last 24 hours, which brings the country’s total to 197.

Two more patients lost their lives in the last 24 hours, bringing the coronavirus-related death toll to 10. Both victims, a woman (72) and a man (67) suffered from high blood pressure.

Tests have been conducted on 1325 people in total, 79 in the last 24 hours.

– The number of those infected stands at 186, excluding 10 victims.

– 33 patients recovered, including 6 medical staff.

– 74 patients are hospitalized.

– 4 patients are in intensive care.

The rest of the infected are under quarantine at home.

The map of those infected covers cities of Tirana (113, including 4 victim), Durrës (11, including one victim), Fier (21, including two victims), Lushnje (4, including one victim), Elbasan (5), Rrogozhina (2), Kavaja (4, including one victim), Korca (12), Vlora (5, including one victim), Shkodra (4), Lezha (4), Has (2), Berat (1), Kruja (3), Tropoja (3), Puka (3).

The government has limited testing only to people over 65, the chronically ill, and those who have had contact with infected patients.

So far, all of those infected had either been in contact with other infected people or had recently traveled to Italy.
