Albanian Foreign Minister Olta Xhaçka on Wednesday congratulated the 46th US President, Joe Biden after his inauguration.
She said on Twitter that “The eyes of the world are on you.”
Even President Ilir Meta on Wednesday congratulated Biden, saying that he felt US-Albanian relationships would now develop further. He described good relations with the US as a “vital guarantee” of peace and stability in the region.
Opposition leader Lulzim Basha said he looks forward to working with Biden and Harris to further strengthen relations between the two countries. He added that Biden’s election was an example that democracy is strong and that change is possible.
Joe Biden was sworn in as President of the United States on Wednesday.
Biden won the Nov. 3 presidential election against Donald Trump.
Biden has vowed to take steps to prevent the pandemic from spreading as well as reverse some of former President Trump’s key domestic and foreign policies.
