The Albanian School of Magistrates became the first institution in the country to make vaccination mandatory for its students and staff.
The School of Magistrates is the institution that trains Albanian judges and public prosecutors.
According to an announcement published on the school’s official website, students must present a vaccination certificate at the Registrar’s Office before they can attend classes.
Albania saw a steady decline in case numbers over June and July, but the trend was reversed in August as cases began to climb. This surge comes after the presence of the Delta Variant was confirmed in the country.
Open vaccination month continues for everyone over 18. There will be no need to register online to book a vaccine. Everyone wanting a jab can show up at a vaccination center with an ID.
Other lockdown measures have remained unchanged, while neighboring Kosovo made vaccines mandatory for everyone wishing to participate in large gatherings.
