On Friday, the Ministry of Health reported the death at the Tirana hospital of a 75-year-old man infected with Covid-19. This brings the coronavirus-related death to in Albania to 17.
The man reportedly had hypertension, diabetes and had previously had a hemorrhagic stroke.
Authorities said he was taken to hospital in a serious condition, adding that he tested positive to coronavirus and his health deteriorated abruptly.
As of April 3, Albania has reported 304 cases while 89 people were cured. The government has limited testing only to people over 65, the chronically ill, and those who have had contact with infected patients.
