The police of Elbasan has arrested 40-year-old Besnik Çapja, one of the Çapja family members accused with drug trafficking.
On November 28, Interpol in Rome issued an arrest warrant against Çapja, who used two other pseudonyms, Besnik Bylyku and Klinton Prifti. He was wanted for drug trafficking, specifically cocaine trade.
In January 20, Çapja was convicted in absentia in Turin with 6 years and 4 months imprisonment for membership of a criminal organization with the aim of narcotics trafficking. Çapja is expected to be extradited to Italy.
The Çapja family is one of the notorious families in Elbasan, and has been followed for years by the police. Several of the family members have been killed over the years as the result of a feud with another Elbasan family.
