Albanian political parties’ deal on electoral reform has been applauded by Josep Borrell and Olivér Várhelyi, the EC High Representative and Neighbourhood and Enlargement Commissioner.
In a joint statement released shortly after the news was made public on Friday, Borrell and Várhelyi said the changes agreed between parties will benefit the Albanian citizens.
They reminded Albanian politicians that the electoral reform was just one of the several key conditions to start EU accession negotiations, and that the country should progress in the EU path with other reforms.
