Embassies of Germany and France have called on the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) to drop their motion of no confidence against Prime Minister Albin Kurti, and ensure a stable government during the corona virus pandemic.

The plenary session for LDK’s no-confidence vote against Kurti was set today for tomorrow at 11am.
Speaker of Parliament Vjosa Osmani from the LDK stated her vote against ousting PM Kurti and called on MPs to do the same.
“I still believe there is room for both [coalition] partners to find a solution at this very grave time for Kosovo’s people […] I don’t support this motion, I call on all MPs not to support it,” she said.
Osmani also expressed concerns against holding a plenary session because the parliament does not meet the condition set by the Institution of Public Health to hold a minimum of 2 meter distance between MPs.
Also today, Embassies of the Quint Member States (France, Germany, Italy, United Kingdom, and the United States) urged political leaders in Kosovo to stop fighting and support the Kurti government’s efforts against corona virus.
