Kosovo’s Parliament has approved the new government led by Avdullah Hoti from the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), the country’s second largest party.
61 MPs voted in favor, – the minimum required, – 24 against and 1 abstained in the 120-seat parliament. The largest party, Vetevendosje, did not attend the session.
President Hashim Thaci congratulated Hoti for the post and offered his cooperation to fulfill the government’s “national and international agenda”.
Hundreds of Kosovars protested during the session, demanding new elections.
