There are only 42 COVID-related patients across all Kosovo hospitals, according to the Clinical and University Hospital Service of Kosovo.
Furthermore, four regional hospitals located in Kosovo’s major cities are not treating any COVID patients at the moment.
Per the Clinical and University Hospital Service, the main hospitals of Prizren, Gjilan, Mitrovica and Vushtrri are now COVID-free.
In late August, Kosovo began applying strict anti-pandemic measures, making vaccines mandatory for participation in indoor events and implementing long curfew hours for cafés and restaurants.
Since then, Kosovo has seen a steady decline in the number of daily cases, with only seven positive cases in the last 24 hours and one death.
The country also boasts the highest vaccination rate in the region, having vaccinated fully roughly 754,000 of its 1.8 million people. Another 848,000 have received the first dose of the vaccine.
