Today the Parliamentary Assembly will approve the appointment of two new ministers, Olta Xhaçka and Niko Peleshi.
On December 31, President Ilir Meta decreed Xhacka as Foreign Minister and Peleshi as Minister of Defense.
Xhaçka and Peleshi were nominated by Prime Minister Edi Rama on Wednesday to head these ministries.
Rama’s decision came after the resignation of Deputy Minister Gent Cakaj.
This is the third change in the cabinet just four months before the general election. In early December Interior Minister Sander Lleshaj resigned following protests over the murder of a 25-year-old man by police. He was replaced with Bledi Cuci.
