Police Disperse Anti-Mask Protest In Tirana

Police in Tirana dispersed tens of protestors from in front of the Prime Ministers Office last night. They gathered to protest against the decision to make the wearing of face masks mandatory in public.

The protest started at around 18:00 and was organised via Facebook. Citizens opposed the measures and gathered to make their voices heard. They were swiftly dispersed by police in riot gear and some were taken into custody.

The Albanian government made masks in public mandatory this week. Those that do not comply will be fined 3000 ALL (EUR 24) for the first offence and 5000 ALL (EUR 40) on the second offence.
