Serbia May Go Back on Pledge to Move Embassy to Jerusalem if Israel Recognises Kosovo

Serbia may not move its embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem if Israel recognizes Kosovo’s independence.

According to sources for The Jerusalem Post newspaper close to President Vucic, The latter has hinted that he may violate the pledges signed in the White House on September 4, between Kosovo and Serbia.

“Serbia will not move its embassy to Jerusalem if Israel recognizes Kosovo as an independent country. Moreover, this move by Israel would damage the bilateral relationship between Israel and Serbia and will never be the same. It is so simple “said the source.

Serbia and Kosovo sign separate agreements with the US at the same time, sitting on opposite sides of US President Donald Trump in the Oval Office.

One of the points of the agreement was that Israel would recognize Kosovo’s independence, Kosovo would open an embassy in Jerusalem, while Serbia would move the embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.
