Sweden Eases Travel Restrictions with Albania

Sweden has eased pandemic restrictions for everyone traveling from Albania. From now on, travelers from Albania will be eligible to enter Sweden even for tourism or visiting friends and relatives.

To visit Sweden, those coming from Albania require only a negative PCR test taken within 48 hours, reports Tirana International Airport.

The decision follows the recommendation of the Council of Europe to allow people to travel from Albania, which is now considered an epidemiologically safe place with regards to COVID-19.

There are already 11 countries that have opened the borders and lifted travel restrictions with Albania, including more recently Spain and the Czech Republic.

In Albania, lockdown measures have been eased and international travelers to Albania do not require proof of a negative COVID-19 test to enter the country.

The COVID-19 vaccination campaign in Albania has picked up and infection rates have been falling.
