132 New COVID-19 Cases in Albania as Open Vaccination Month Continues

On Thursday, there were 132 new COVID-19 cases recorded in Albania, as numbers continue to rise.

The Ministry of Health informed that there are currently 642 active patients in the country, with 26 requiring hospitalized care.

There have been no new deaths this week, and only one death has been recorded in more than a month.

Albania saw a steady decline in case numbers over June and July, but the trend was reversed in the last weeks when cases began to climb.

This surge comes after the presence of the Delta Variant was confirmed in the country.

Meanwhile, open vaccination month continues for everyone over 18. There will be no need to register online to book a vaccine. Everyone wanting a jab can show up at a vaccination center with an ID.

More than 512,625 people have been fully vaccinated in Albania and more than 1,1 million doses of the vaccine have been administered to date.
