Alliance for the Protection of the National Theatre Protests Against Alleged Inaction Regarding Investigation

The Alliance for the Protection of the National Theater protested on Thursday in front of the Special Prosecution, as they suspect that no investigation is being carried out into their reports for the demolition of the theatre.

AMT has sued Prime Minister Edi Rama, Mayor of Tirana Erion Veliaj, Minister of the Interior Sander Lleshaj, and Police Chief Adri Veliu, directors and councillors of the municipality and a number of other officials related to the process of transferring the property of the Theater from the Ministry of Culture to the Municipality of Tirana, and then for the demolition of theatre.

AMT accuses senior officials of abuse of office, deliberate destruction of property, destruction of historical and cultural sites.

They have also sued the mayor  Veliaj, the deputy mayor Mazniku, the engineers who drafted the act-expertise, Lleshaj and Veliu, as well as all the officials who have signed for the demolition of TK.

The prosecutor of the TK case is Ervin Kondilli, who seized the documents from the Municipality of Tirana for the procedure followed for the demolition of the building of the National Theater and the Experimental Theater “Kujtim Spahivogli” on the morning of 17 May.
