The Association of Professional Journalists of Albania has condemned the intimidation that police forces have exercised over journalists and employees of Ora News, due to the investigation into and the seizure of assets belonging to owner Ylli Ndroqi.
In a Facebook post, the association writes that ‘the SPAK investigation of the owner of these media should not affect the job security of journalists and the editorial policy of these media.’
The association called on the government and law enforcement institutions to guarantee the rights of journalists, the continuity of their work and not to interfere in the editorial policy.
The Association of Professional Journalists of Albania is one of the most active organizations in the country for the protection of media freedom and journalists.
