Vetting Restarts June 1 with Judge Marçela Shehu

The vetting process will begin again after a few weeks of break, on June 1, with the hearing of judge Marçela Shehu.

Marçela Shehu is a judge in the Kurbin Judicial District Court. She is on the vetting priority list as she is competing to become a member of High Judicial Council (KLGj).

Further hearings are schedule on June 4 for Anila Leka, prosecutor at the General Prosecution and candidate for the High Prosecutorial Council (KLP). While a day later, on June 5, High Court judge Edmond Islamaj will be heard.

The judicial body will be made up of Brunilda Bekteshi, Lulzim Hamitaj and Olsi Komici.

During the first round, the Independent Qualification Commission (KPK) only reconfirmed Constitutional judge Vitore Tusha, prosecutor Fatjona Memçaj and judge Manjola Xhaxho.

Meanwhile, Constitutional judges Fatos Lulo, Altina Xhoxhaj and Fatmir Hoxha, prosecutor Besa Nikëhasani, and Durrës Appeals Court judge Besim Trezhnjeva were dismissed and Constitutional judge Besnik Imeraj resigned.
